Judging:The competition was judged by Dave Robbins (Designer for UKCC artwork at UYR) Karen Dolan, and James Little. The main criteria for the design was:-1. Terms and Conditions1. The competition is open to students of UK schools aged between 13-17 years old. The start date for the competition is 1st September 2009 and the closing date is 30th October 2009. Only one entry per person. Please note that anyone who sends in multiple entries will have the last design they submit put forward for the competition. 2. To enter the competition you must design a piece of UKCC artwork from the brief supplied. The rules are: a. The artwork must be cutting edge and appropriate for the UKCC brand taking into account elements of a UKCC event (examples of previous artwork will be included with this brief). b. The design must be solely the entrant's own original work and must not be a copy of any existing logo, image or design. c. The design can be in colour or black and white. It can be computer generated artwork or created using paints, pencils, pens, crayons, or a combination of all media. d. The design cannot feature an image of a famous person whether alive or dead. e. Entries MUST be submitted by post or e-mail. No design will be accepted if it is not submitted by post or e-mail and not received by the closing date. f. The entry must be submitted with a completed enrolment form which must be accompanied by the design. We need the contact information so that we can notify winners and runners up. The entry form is the only place where the entrant's names and contact details should be written. The enrolment form and brief are available in the pack or it can be downloaded from 3. All entries must arrive no later than 30th October 2009. Late or illegible entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be returned. 4. By completing the enrolment form accompanying the entry for the competition, the entrant's parent / guardian are deemed to have given consent for the entry/drawing to be used for all marketing and promotion purposes for UKCC in all media purposes including, but not limited to, television, newspaper and internet. By taking part in the competition entrants also consent and agree to assign to UKCC all copyright in their design should the design be shortlisted for consideration by the panel of judges. 5. Using the criteria for the competition the judges will select a short list. This shortlist will be 10 entries in total. The judges will then make a final decision and we will contact the 2 winners and the 8 runners up. 6. Shortlisted entrants will be contacted during the judging process and their details checked. 7. In the event of not being able to contact the winner after reasonable attempts have been made, or if there is any breach of the rules, UKCC reserves the right to select a runner up's design as the winner but is not obliged to do so. 8. UKCC reserves the right to cancel the competition or any of the rules at any stage if necessary or if circumstances arise outside of it's control. 9. The judges decision is final. |
